Navigation is not a problem, according to Mark Bernstein. I think I agree. It isn't a problem for authors who think. It can be a nightmare to try to navigate a large database-driven commercial site.
Anyway, I thought I had to add some few navigation tools when I made it possible for my blog notes to have children so I could write hypertext.
If you arrive from some random place on the Web, you should have some sense of where you are, so I added the short path on top of each page.
I also decided to call the children of notes "sidebars," adopting the term Jakob Nielsen uses in his Alertbox. I mean, his site should be a good model for easy-to-use design, shouldn't it?
That way, you can always get out and find something else. That is what I want the readers to do: keep on reading.
