good-looking blogs

I want to collect fine examples of blogging. Not good writing this time, but fine layout and features.

I like Andersja's extensive use of themed overviews. His blog is reasonably pretty too, even elegant in the permalink pages.

I think Derek Powazek's got a great layout (as you would expect), and if you visit a permalink page, the placement of the "previous" and "next" links is smart.

In Fotolog , your friends list always displays a thumbnail of their latest images. This could be done with RSS in text blogs.

In the celebrity league, I think Moby's journal is excellent in its simplicity (yet it uses stupid frames, so I can only link to his contents page, from which you must click "moby journal" ). I never quite understood why we need bother with the separate permalink pages. Over at Moby's each note is saved in one place only. You just hit cmd-D or whatever you use to bookmark a page, and its done. No special rules for blogmarks. What makes it work, of course is that mr. Moby is good in writing titles, and that the location tag works for a man who travels as much as he does. (While you're there, be sure to check out his photos. He's a good photographer. Click "Moby Visuals".)

Please email more suggestions, if you have.
