They've been cleaning out the attic on our web server, and the strangest things reappear. I found the first web pages I made for money, back in 1996. You probably can't tell from this small screenshot, but not only are the colors so strong they won't stand still, there is also a not-too-subtle background effect, where the logo is embedded over and over. We've come a long way since then.

If you don't remember, I wasn't the only one with a taste for strong color back then. One of the hottest sites were Hotwired, which sported a new color every day. Here's one green and one orange daily index page.
